Our mission at BetterWorld is to provide best-in-class fundraising tools for individuals and organizations around the country.
By default, your account is on the Free Forever Plan. There are no limitations or hidden features on the free plan! Free Forever is supported by an optional contribution on winning bids and other transactions.
For organizations that would prefer to cover the cost of fundraising themselves (instead of prompting donors), we offer a few other options. All of these options are designed simply for flexibility- no additional features are gained. It's a different way of keeping this platform sustainable and making these tools available for every nonprofit.
Plan options
Free Forever Plan: This is the free version of all of our tools and what you are signed up for by default. On this plan, BetterWorld prompts donors for a suggested (but entirely optional) contribution on winning bids, purchased tickets etc.. This helps cover the costs of running each campaign and helps nonprofits keep 100% of what they raise. (Donors may also elect to not cover this if they prefer not to contribute.)
Flex Plan: This plan is designed for organizations that would prefer to remove the optional donor contributions, without upgrading to a paid membership (Partner Plan). On this plan, a small fee applies to transactions: 2.2% for our Standard Donation campaign and Donation Forms and 5% for all other campaign types. These fees can be hidden from donors and deducted from dollars raised or made visible as an optional or required selection.
Partner Plan: This plan is for organizations that prefer to help cover the costs of their campaigns themselves instead of asking donors to contribute. There's a $1,550 annual membership and a 1% fee on transactions. You’ll get the same software as the Free Forever plan, along with the added benefit of being able to set up automatic payouts. It’s simply a different way to support the platform for organizations that prefer to cover campaign costs themselves.
Transaction fees
Credit Card Costs (All Plans): Our goal with payment processing is to ensure safe, secure, low-cost transactions and to do everything we can to ensure that nonprofits can keep 100% of the dollars they raise. Our payment processor, Stripe, charges 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction.
ACH Costs (All Plans): A lower fee option is direct payment/bank payments. ACH payments include a 1.5% transaction fee +30 cents per transaction, which is paid to Stripe. Currently, this payment option is available on Standard Donation Campaigns, Donation Forms, Live Auctions, and Paddle Raise Campaigns. This option will be rolling out to all campaign types in the near future!
DafPay: If a donor chooses to give using DAFpay, there is a 2.9% processing fee and 1% platform fee.

We give donors the option to cover transaction fees. If you want to adjust the default settings, you can change this setting on your Membership Plan page under "Donor Prompt Settings".
