Recommended Payout Process

The easiest way to receive funds is to link a Stripe account. This is the fastest way to get your funds. With this method, funds are available for payout six days after the card(s) is charged.

To setup your Stripe account and receive your funds, head to Payments & Payouts in the dashboard, then Bank Account, and click the button to connect or create a Stripe account. It's easy and only takes a few minutes! You'll be directed to a Stripe page where you can complete the account and it will automatically link with BetterWorld!

Alternative Check Payout Process

We do offer the option to receive a payout by check. Please reach out to our team through the chat bubble in the bottom left corner or email us at [email protected].

PLEASE NOTE: This service comes with additional restrictions and costs. We deduct a $45 processing charge and we wait 30 days after the end of your campaign to pass along the funds.

Why do we add an extra cost and delay here?

Writing a check is a liability for our business. We've had scenarios where we send a check to an organization and then, several weeks later, a donor disputes a charge. When this happens, funds (along with a fee) are immediately debited from our accounts, sometimes permanently. The problem is that we've already passed along the funds. For a single organization, it may not seem like a big deal but spread out over the 100,000+ organizations that use BetterWorld, it's a real risk for us.

The $45 covers our time and any expenses we incur. The 30-day delay gives us enough time to handle most chargebacks or failed charges before we send a check. We hope you understand that our goal with this policy is not to make an extra buck or cause any inconvenience. We're trying to build a company that can sustainably serve thousands of nonprofits every day.
