Some bidders may not want to bid on an item and partake in your auction, but they would still like to donate to your cause and support your organization. There are many ways they can do this!

1. Use the "Donate" button

You will notice a "Donate" button at the top right corner of every campaign and page on BetterWorld. This "Donate" button is connected to the Standard Donation campaign that is set up by default when you first create a BetterWorld account.

You can edit this button from your dashboard by clicking 'Edit Profile' in the right drop-down menu > 'Donation button' -- you can choose to not show the donation button on your campaign pages, change the button text, and choose which donation campaign you would like the button to link to. You can either use the pre-made standard donation campaign, or create a new donation campaign specifically for auction donations or for another cause you would like your auction participants to donate to.

2. Hyperlink a donation campaign to your auction's description

You can choose a donation campaign, copy the campaign's URL, and hyperlink it into your auction's description or to your items' descriptions. To hyperlink text, highlight the text and you will see a grey menu popup. Click the link icon, paste the URL for your donation campaign and save.

Then bidders will be able to click the hyperlinked text and be redirected to the donation campaign of your choosing!

3. Use our "Impact Giving" tool

This is a great option if you do not want your auction participants to be redirected to a donation page outside of the auction. With the Impact Giving tool, you can add fund-a-need items for a set price, or use it for "buy it now" items that you want to sell in your auction for a set price. You can also use this tool to add suggested donations to the bottom of your auction. Here is how that looks when it is all set up -- you can set suggested donation amounts, like this:

Or you can set up fund-a-need donations, like this:

To get started, head to Donations > New Campaign > Impact Campaign to create your campaign. You can title it 'Make a Donation' and add 'items' for suggested donation amounts, or you can give fund-a-need suggestions so donors can choose where they'd like their donation to go.

Once you've set up the Impact campaign, head back to the Auction > Manage > Settings > Impact Items, and here you can choose the campaign you just created.

This campaign will now appear at the bottom of your auction! If participants scroll through the available items and decide they do not want to bid, this option gives them an easy way to still donate. Note, impact items and other standard donations will be charged immediately upon checkout, not at the end of the auction with the winning bids. Here is a helpful video guide on how to add Impact Items to your auction!
