When you create an auction on BetterWorld, there are two options: online bidding or live bidding.

Online Auctions
Online bidding is set up for online and in-person bidding in real-time so that people can bid by phone, computer, and table (regardless of where they are). Functionally, this is closest to an "online silent auction." The benefit of this is that everything is instant and seamless. Nothing manual, just one system where everyone can participate and support your cause in real-time.
Online Bidding
BetterWrold makes online bidding easy for in-person events! Simply share the link or QR code to your auction with your bidders. We also provide automatically generated table cards for all of your auction items. To learn more about table cards and how to download them click here.
Online bidders will be prompted to add payment information as they place their first bid. We require payment information and the bidder's name, email, and password to place a bid. Online bidders also have the option to give their phone number so they can receive out-bid text messages. They will also get out-bid notifications via email.
Online Ending
Bidding will end automatically at the time you have sent and then you will be prompted to close the auction and charge winning bidders cards. Online bidders will automatically be emailed to let them know what they have won and receipt emails! For more information about the end of auction processes for online bidding click here.

Live Auctions
BetterWorlds live bidding tool allows you to run in-person live auctions and enter the winning bids online! Before the auction add your items and all of the details, including a photo. You can share your live auction with your bidder so they can preview the items that will be at the event.
Live Bidding
BetterWorld provides a beautiful and simple display view to show off your items while the auctioneer is accepting bids. A member of your team or the auctioneer can toddle through the items to provide a visual while bidding. Each time will have its own page! Have someone from your team record the winning bidder and the amount of the winning bid for each item so they can be entered into the site.
Ending Live
Once all of your winning bidders are entered you can officially close the auction. Your winners will be emailed a link to pay for their winning bids as soon as you close the auction. You will be able to track who has paid on the "Payments" page of your auction.

Hybrid Auction
When setting up an auction, you must choose either online or live bidding. If you are planning to do a hybrid auction you can set up one of each! You can use the two auctions simultaneously.
We recommend making most of your items online bidding because it is automated, it runs itself, and it has fewer moving pieces. Then take a few items and do them 'Live' to make them special.
