BetterWorld will only charge one winner (the highest bidder) per item. There is no way to charge any of the runner-ups for a bid if it was not the winning bid. One option would be to list multiple of the same item for people to bid on during your Auction. You have the option to 'copy' items that will have multiple winners ahead of time, and bidders can bid on each of the items separately. There is a 'Copy item' feature in the dashboard you can use for this. We understand this may not be ideal for your Auction, that being said, there is a workaround for how you can have multiple winners for a single item.

Personally notify the additional winners
1. Head to your Auction dashboard and click Manage on your Auction.
2. Click Items in the left sidebar, then click on the item that has multiple winners.
3. Click Activity along the top bar. On this page you will find the bidding activity and the next highest bidders. Click on the names of any runner-ups and you will find their contact information.
4. Once you have the additional winner's email addresses you will manually send them an email letting them know they won, how to receive their item/experience, and explaining how they can pay for their item.
Offer ways they can pay for their winning bid
Standard Donation
You can ask them to make a Standard Donation for the amount they bid by sending them the link to your Donation Campaign and asking them to select 'Other' and they can make a payment equal to their highest bid.
Copy the Item
If the winner would like to receive an invoice of the item, the option here would be to copy the item from your Online Auction to your Live Auction. Here is how to do this:
β
The first step is to make sure you're managing the new Auction, not the previous Auction that you want to copy items from. (So either log into the new one, or create one before moving forward). In the option below, "Sample Online Auction" is the new Auction that I want to bring items from an older auction into. Follow the steps below:
1. Create a new Auction with live bidding only. Within the Live Auction click on Items in the left-hand menu. Once on the items page, click Copy Items in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
2. From there, select the Online Auction that you'd like to copy the items from from the dropdown menu. Click Continue.
3. Then select the items from that Online Auction you'd like to copy and click Create Items.
4. Next, click Bids in the left sidebar.
5. Once on the Bids page click the Enter bid button next to the item.
4. A window will pop up and you will be first prompted to enter the winning bid amount and the donor's information of the runner-ups. Since they took part in your Online Auction you can search for existing donors.
Please Note: If the donor's name does not have a checkmark next to it (which indicates they have created an account), please input them as a new donor.
5. Once you are done entering the winning bidders/bids, set the Auction bidding time to end you will see a notification promoting you to close the Auction. Once you click the Close Auction now button you will no longer be able to add or edit bids. All winning bidders will be notified via email to check out and submit payment for the items won.
6. After you close the Auction you will automatically be directed to the payment page. It will appear blank at first but as winning bidders pay their invoice their payments will appear in the table. You will have to refresh the page to see new payments.
7. Now, head to fulfillment to connect winners with their items.
Your runner-up winners have been successfully charged for the Auction item!
