This guide outlines essential steps, such as how to place a bid or set a max bid for convenience, and creating a secure account for future transactions. It highlights notifications you will receive, how to view your bid history, how you will receive confirmation if you win, and how to coordinate receiving the item(s) using the fulfillment center.

Access the auction through the link or QR code provided to you by the organization. Select the category of items you'd like to browse. Alternatively, simply scroll to see all of the items available for bidding.

Once you find an item you are interested in, click anywhere on the item's photo to view more details. Alternatively, you can click the "Bid" button on the upper right corner to bid quickly!

On the item's page, you can see more photos and details about the item. When you are ready to bid, tap the box. The bid increments are pre-set by the organization hosting the auction. The bid box will display that the next highest bid must be at least a certain dollar amount more than the current bid. Type your bid and click "Bid"

If you scroll down a bit more, you will see a longer description of the item, and a place to set a max bid. Your max bid is kept private. Setting a max bid allows the system to bid for you automatically in the pre-determined bid increments anytime you are outbid.

If you already have a BetterWorld account you can log in. Not to worry, if you do not have an account yet, you will be prompted to create one in order to place your first bid.

Why is an account required? Your credit card will be securely saved to make future bidding easier. Plus...

Why is a credit card required to place a bid? This is to streamline the end of auction process, so the organization can easily charge the cards saved on file for the winners. You will not be charged for bidding. If you would like to pay by check, just let the organization know ahead of time.

You will be asked to cover a credit card processing fee of 2.9% + 30c. If you agree to this fee, the organization will keep 100% of your winning bid donation.

Enter your personal details and create a password. You can access your BetterWorld bid history and receipts at account.betterworld.org

Tip: Your BetterWorld account is also where you can see the items you "favorite" and your bid history!

Be sure to opt into receiving text notifications. You will be emailed when you are outbid and when 48 and 12 hours are remaining to bid. To receive text notifications also, you must opt-in.

BetterWorld will not share your information! You will only receive notifications regarding the auction or any other fundraisers you participate in.

Finally, click "Place bid"!

Once your bid is successfully placed, you can return to the auction or item page.

You will receive an email confirmation of your bid from [email protected]

The confirmation email will contain a link to the item you bid on, information on when the bidding ends, and possibly additional messages from the organization.

When the auction ends and is officially closed, you will receive a "Congratulations" email if you win, and an "Auction payment receipt" email once your card is charged. Your card will not be automatically charged at the end of the auction.

These emails will have a link to the fulfillment center where you can select how you would like to receive your item. If the item is eligible for shipping, additional shipping charges may apply.

The receipt will also have the organization's EIN at the bottom. You can also access this receipt in your BetterWorld account.

Tip: The fulfillment center will have a message center for you to get in touch with the organization if needed.
