When setting up a ticketed event, you can create two types of custom questions to gather essential information: per-ticket and per-purchase questions.

How to add Per-ticket questions

These type of questions are ideal for collecting details specific to each attendee, such as meal preferences or shirt sizes, ensuring you have all the information you need. These questions can also be marked as required or optional to answer!

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to add these questions in the dashboard:

  1. Navigate to your dashboard, and click Ticketed Events in the menu on your left. Then, click Manage on your event.

  2. Now head to the Tickets tab on the left-hand menu.

  3. Select the ticket you wish to add a custom questions to by clicking on the pencil icon to edit.

  5. Now you can select the type of input you would like for your custom question. Please note: Choosing an input means choosing the format of how your ticket holders will answer your question, this way all answers are uniform and organized. Here are some examples: if you're asking for meal choices, you might use Radio Buttons so only one answer can be selected at a time. Or maybe you would like to know their age for an 18+ event, you could use the Date input so donors can enter or select a date easily from a calendar! Here is what those two examples would look like to your donors:

  6. Select the type of input you'd like for your custom question. A pop-up will appear asking you to label/name your question and choose whether or not this question is required to answer before your donors checkout

  7. Now you will be prompted to fill in additional information for this question, such as instructions, character limit, etc.

  8. When you are finished, click Save.

Now, the ticket purchaser and their guests will be able to answer the additional questions because it will appear per ticket purchased as shown below.

Here are some examples: If you're asking if the ticket purchaser would like to be subscribed to your newsletter, you might use Radio Buttons so only one answer can be selected at a time. Or maybe you would like to give a member of your organization credit for the donor's participation. To do this, you can ask "Who told you about our event?", and choose a Text Input so your donor can enter a name. Here is what those two examples would look like to your ticket purchasers:
