BetterWorld has two types of auctions available. Online bidding and live bidding! When setting up your auction you will be prompted to pick the bidding style you want to use. Check out an example here.

Online Auctions
Online bidding is designed for both online and in-person participation, allowing people to bid using their phone, computer, or tablet from anywhere. This setup functions like an "Online Silent Auction." The advantage is that everything happens seamlessly in real-time through a single system, making it easy for everyone to support your cause.
Online Bidding
BetterWorld makes online bidding easy for in-person events! Simply share the link or QR code to your Auction with your bidders. We also provide automatically generated table cards for all of your Auction items. To learn more about table cards and how to download them click here.

When placing their first bid, online bidders are prompted to provide payment information, along with their name, email, and password. They can also add their phone number to receive outbid notifications via text and email.
Online Ending
Bidding will end automatically at the time you set. Afterward, you'll be prompted to close the Auction and charge the winning bidders' cards. Winners will receive an automatic email with details about their items and a receipt. For more information on the Auction closing process for online bidding, click here.

Live Auctions
BetterWorld's live bidding tool allows you to run in-person Live Auctions and enter the winning bids online! Before your event, you can upload items with all their details, including a photo. You can share your Live Auction with your bidder so they can preview the items that will be at the event.
Live Bidding
BetterWorld provides a beautiful and simple display view to showcase your items during live bidding. As the Auctioneer accepts bids, a team member can navigate through the item pages to provide a visual aid for the audience. Each item will have its own dedicated page. Assign someone from your team to record the winning bidder and their bid amount for each item. These details can then be entered into the system after the Auction.
β
Ending Live
Once all winning bids are entered into the system, you can officially close the Auction. Winners will automatically receive an email with a link to pay for their items. You can track payments on the "Payments" page of your Auction dashboard.

Hybrid Auction
When setting up an Auction, you must choose either online or live bidding. If you are planning to run a Hybrid Auction you can set up one of each! You can run the two Auctions simultaneously. Both auctions will be accessible to bidders from your organization's profile page.
We recommend hosting most of your items using the Online Auction because it is automated, easy to manage, and requires fewer resources. Then, select a few key items for live bidding to add excitement and make them special.
